THE STORY OF
BODEGAS CAVALLA

Cavalla has its roots in the heart of Piedmont, an Italian region renowned for its rich winemaking tradition. For four generations, our family has worked tirelessly on the land, perfecting the art of viniculture, always guided by values of quality, dedication, and respect for nature.

The wine culture at Cavalla is deeply intertwined with Italian gastronomy and a passion for fine cuisine. Each bottle reflects a family story that connects grandparents, parents, and children, all sharing the same devotion to viticulture.

Our tradition is to gather the family around the table, celebrating life and its small moments.

We work the land with profound respect for the landscape and the changing climate of each season. The passing of seasons not only defines the nature of our wine but also sets the rhythm of our lives, marking each stage in the growth of our grapes. Cavalla is not just a winery; it is a reflection of our connection to the land and the legacy of generations who have lived to share this passion with the world.

THE ORIGIN
FROM OUR GRAPES

The grapes used in Cavalla come from the prestigious Maule and Colchagua valleys, located in the heart of Chile's Central Valley. These valleys offer exceptional climatic conditions, with fertile soils and an ideal climate that allows for perfect ripening of the grapes, guaranteeing wines of superior quality.

Chile, with its natural borders—the Pacific Ocean, the Andes mountain range, the Atacama Desert and Patagonia—is one of the few places in the world where phylloxera, a devastating pest for vineyards, has never arrived. This has allowed our vines to maintain ancestral genetic material, preserving varieties that have disappeared in other parts of the world.

One of the jewels of our production is Carménère, a grape variety that was thought to be extinct in the rest of the world after the arrival of phylloxera, but which found refuge in the Chilean valleys. The French varieties arrived in Chile in the mid-19th century, just before the plague affected European vineyards, and have since flourished in this unique environment.

COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY

At Cavalla, our commitment goes beyond making exceptional wines. We are proud to work hand in hand with local producers, farming families who, like us, have dedicated generations to viticulture. In a world where large industries and new technologies have put many of these small farms at risk, at Cavalla we believe in the importance of preserving this agricultural tradition and culture.

We strive to support these families who, for decades, have worked the land with dedication, facing the challenges of climate and the market. With their deep knowledge of the craft, they continue to produce grapes of incomparable quality. By partnering with them, we not only ensure top-quality ingredients for our wines, but also contribute to the preservation of a legacy that could otherwise become extinct under current economic pressures.

At Cavalla, we believe that the essence of a good wine comes from both the land and the hands that work it. That's why we're committed to helping keep this family tradition alive, providing the necessary support to keep it flourishing in the midst of a changing market.
